That past few days I think I’ve had a shopping bug. It all started when I was checking out all of my normal online shopping sites (like here, here, and here) and saw that Marc Jacobs was having a 70% off sale. Since I’ve been a fan of Marc Jacobs ready to wear for a while, I know that they usually have 2-3 sales a year where everything from the past season goes to 70% off. As I browsing the site, this gorgeous plaid shirt instantly caught my eye.
Right away I called the Marc Jacobs store on Walton to see if they had the shirt in my size in stock. Andrew, the Marc Jacobs sales associate, said that unfortunately the shirt that I wanted was sold out completely throughout the company. I asked him if they had any shirts with the similar fabric combination (the shirt was made out of silk and cotton = perfect for the summer). He mentioned that they had a floralesque shirt from the SS14 collection and a white shirt in my size. I told him that after my yoga class that I will be there to try them on.
After my yoga class I decided to take a Lyft because I was too lazy to ride the train. Tyler, my Lyft driver, was extremely patient and sweet when picking me up. As we headed to the boutique, we talked about school and our lives to ignore the tons of traffic that we were stuck in. After being in the car for almost 30 minutes, I finally arrived at the Marc Jacobs boutique.
I’ve been in the boutique a few times but have never actually purchased anything. It’s pretty awesome how different the Marc by Marc Jacobs and Marc Jacobs stores are. Simple, chic, classic is what came to mind when I entered into the store. I was greeted by Andrew, who was decked out in head-to-toe Marc Jacobs. He prompted me to the dressing room and the rest is seriously history.
I ended up purchasing three shirts in total. Two of the floral hawaiian shirts (one has to be shipped from the New York store) and one white dress shirt with an unfinished hemmed locked. I can tell you that I’m now officially in love with Marc Jacob’s main brand. Maybe it’s because I’m getting older and wiser, but there’s just something about the quality of the garments that amazed me.
Good job Marc Jacobs. You have won me over.
