I can't believe in 11 days I will be taking my second stab at running the Chicago Marathon. As some of you guys know I decided to run the Chicago Marathon in 2011, but was unable to complete it due to passing out completely. It was so hot during the race that people were passing out like flies. If I could recall, the weather had to be in the low 90s that year. Could you imagine running 26.2 miles in 90 degree weather?
This year I decided to not only run to complete the marathon (in under 4 hours hopefully), but to also run for a cause. After doing some research on several charities I ended up choosing Harley Helping Hands.
HHH is a non-profit organization that was established in 2009 to positively impact the lives of adults battling Brain Cancer. Not only do they help out the individuals that have Brain Cancer, but the also the families that might be in financial burden. It's a pretty incredible organization and I'm so proud to be running the Marathon to help out these individuals and their families.
My goal was to raise $500 for HHH, but since I've had great feedback and support already I decided to increase my goal to $750. Of course if you guys are interested in supporting myself and HHH during the 2013 Chicago Marathon, you can donate right HERE (thanks everyone!).
