INsights from the Topshop + CS Magazine Party

Last Wednesday two of my favorite street style photographers, Amy Creyer from Chicago Street Style and Emma Arnold from Tres Awesome, hosted a huge celebration for the new CS Magazine and Topshop collaboration.
Amy decked out in head to toe Topshop, besides her Christian Louboutins.
I was lucky enough to be dressed in an Aztelier AZZA customized blazer. You MUST check out the brand. The designer has been featured in Vogue India and many other publications. A pop of color with some studs? I'm in love already.

I finally caved into buying the last Furla Candy Bag that they had in this gorgeous "Anice" color. I call it my Internship bag, because it's so heavy duty that I can just throw it around.
Closeup of some Amy's picks from Topshop - GLITTER EVERYWHERE.
At the event there were tons of chic Chicagoans shopping some of this season's trendiest + hottest clothes. Pretty much I wanted to buy everything.
I was so glad to see one of my lovely friends and uh-mazing designer, Shelby Steiner. She was rocking some skyscraper Jeffrey Campbells, obviously.

Of course I had to grab a picture with the girls behind Aztelier AZZA, Cousin, Azeeza Desai Khan, Me, and Zeenat Desai. All the ladies and myself are wearing Aztelier AZZA
As I was working my way through the party I noticed the cute girl wearing neon shoes & a neon lining shirt. I pretty much died when I saw her. She told me that her name is Bianca and she blogs for Avant Blargh. Let's just say that I'm obsessed with her blog now.
With over 1000 attendees, the party ended up being a huge success for CS Magazine and Topshop/Topman. I'll leave you guys with a picture of one of my favorite attendees at the event. I think his name was London. So CHIC.
and his UNIF Hellraisers..

NYFW Street Style: Bryan Boy + Jena + Rumi + Wendy

It seems like I always get tons of emails about which blogs I recommend for my readers to follow. I can tell you that one of my first and foremost favorite blogs in the world is Bryan Boy. He's probably one of the most inspirational bloggers ever. He could literally giving a flying pig about anything anyone says, aka why I love him.
Known for wearing insane patterns, furs, and pretty everything, he is my life. Of course you'll always seem him with his partner in crime, Rumi from Fashion Toast. Totally am obsessed with her too.
Then there's Jena from ChiCityFashion, who is one of the cutest girls I've ever met. She's pretty much everything a girl can dream of. Customized PS1, Alexander Wang, House of Holland tights... What more can a girl ask for?
Of course there's the OH MY GOD I KNOW YOU face. Thankfully I got to capture it. Oh and Jena if you're reading this.. don't kill me, please with proenza schouler sprinkles?
I was also lucky to spot the lovely Wendy from one my daily reads, Nitrolicious. Her blog consists of instant updates on her life, food, latest collaborations, and of course fashion. She is so adorable in person, I just had to snap a candid of her.
Last but not least, I'll leave you guys drooling over these Louboutins. One question I always ask myself when looking at this picture, how does she do it?

My Chic Life Long Friend in Mint Green & Topshop

I recently reunited with one of my friends from elementary and middle school. When I found out that she went to Northwestern University, I had to see her immediately. I seriously can't tell you how much I love her. She's gorgeous, smart, outgoing, and I can pretty much only talk positively about her. She's definitely an inspiration to me.
The thing I loved about her the most was when we went to elementary school + middle school we always stuck together. Since we were the minorities at our school, we understood each other and went from there. Even when I was an ugly chubby duckling, she still talked to me. The picture above is taken when we were in 8th grade together before a dance. Ah good times.
It's funny how some people change drastically in high school or completely stay the same. Gina looks exactly the same and I look like a whole different person.
Oh by the way, I had the biggest crush on her throughout school.
Sadly I had to move away from the area, because my parents had gotten divorced and it was time to start a new life. It was definitely rough, but it was something my family had to do. Thankfully for Facebook, Gina and I stayed in somewhat contact and it wasn't until this month that we got together. Oh how I love her.

Drenched in BLACK with All Saints x Zara

(hm shirt, all saints cardigan, hm pants, zara faux leather jacket, rayban glasses, aldo shoes)

These pictures were taken about a week ago when I headed to work. As you guys know, I work for Lush Cosmetics in Water Tower and love every moment of it. I get to massage people's hands, pamper them, tell them about the lovely ingredients we put in our products, and just have fun.
Sadly today is my last shift at Lush Water Tower till August. 6 more days till I head to New York where I'll be taking on Topman and will either be working at Lush Soho/Lush Upper Westside. Come visit me!
It's sad to leave my fellow co-workers at Water Tower since I've worked for them for about a month (quick transfer). To think positively... at least I'm coming back at the end of the summer!
The one thing that is super difficult about working for Lush is having to dress in all black and white. I know... you must be thinking What the heck are you talking about? I have tons of blacks and whites.  Not in my closet. I have tons of patterns, colors, and brights, but not many solid blacks and whites. That's where All Saints comes in..
I'm seriously addicted to All Saints. They have some of the best baggy pieces ever. From baggy cardigans to harem pants or dropped cropped pants, you name it. I like to think of All Saints as an edgy and dark Zara.
If you can't tell by this outfit, I'm currently obsessed with mixing baggy cardigans with tight cropped jackets. I think it gives the outfit an unexpected twist, which I always love.
I thought to myself I must invest in a nice white button up. I'm thinking from either Theory or Brook Brothers, but still unsure. If you guys have any suggestions hit me up on Twitter or Facebook!

New York Fashion Week Street Style - Color & Neon

Of course I enjoy doing style/outfit posts, but street style posts that include pictures that I have taken of other attendees is just as amazing. I love doing inspiration posts because not only do I gain inspiration from creating the posts, but I get to share who/what I look up to in the fashion world.
This post is dedicated to the color and neons that were displayed in the attendees at New York Fashion Week. Also these pictures displayed the adventure that I experienced at my first New York Fashion Week. Let's just say it's a jungle out there.
From neon bags to bright red coats, here is my inspiration to you guys.
Effortless mermaid skirt? To die for.
What kind of guy doesn't like a little spice to his socks?
Can anyone say a POC (Pop of Color)?
Patterned skirt & flats.. perfection.
Loving every piece of her outfit, especially her JCrew floral patterned pants and Givenchy bag.

Surviving Da Army

As you guys might of heard through the grapevine (aka Twitter & Instagram) that I went to the Army FTX. You might be asking Why the hell are you doing the Army ROTC in the first place? Two words: Challenge & Leadership.
Joining the Army ROTC has probably been one of the best decisions of my life. It's something that most people don't expect for someone like me to join. I mean a fashion boy in an Army suit? So chic.
The Army Battalion FTX is a camp that is held for Army ROTC cadets in our Battalion to join together and experience Army life. The camp is from Thursday till Sunday, and all I can say is that I survived it.
Cadets were challenged with day & night land navigation where they had to find certain points with just a compass & a map in the forest. It had to be one of the hardest things ever, but I did it. Also cadets were forced to eat MRE's or Meal, Ready-to-eat, which consisted of dog-like food. Let's just say I didn't end up eating much on the trip.

Thankfully we were able to sleep in huge beds, oh wait...
Never mind.

Of course I can't live without my Lush, even though we were only able to shower 2 out of the 4 days we were there.
From obstacle courses to building leadership to cleaning weapons, I can say that I had an amazing time. The FTX made me realized that we take so much for granted, whether it'd be the food that we eat or the amount of sleep we get (sick joke, right?), we are all very fortunate.

What I Wore: Black & White Adventures

(versace for h&m pants, vintage shirt, urban outfitters necklace, h&m oxfords,
rayban glasses, alexander wang rocco bag)

With the time flying by, I don't even have time to think anymore. Its crazy how soon New York is coming up. I've been a lot of questions from relatives, friends, and family about whether I'm scared to be on my own.

The obvious answer, yes of course. I mean who won't be? I also tell them that I'm ready for the challenge and I think its time for me to move on. I always tell people that I feel like I'm a 23 year old guy stuck in a 19 year old body.
The thing that I'm somewhat regretting about the trip is that I planned it a little bit too early. It seems like my finals are literally all the same day, because I decided to take them early.
Ah look at this way... right before taking all those gruesome finals, I get to start living in the Big Apple the next day. Yay or not.
OH! I almost forgot to tell you guys that I will be headed to camp for Army ROTC tomorrow through Sunday.
Think package lunches, shooting riffles, launching grenades, obstacle courses, and of course getting dirty. I'm actually really excited to bond with my fellow ROTC cadets and experience the Army life. So if you guys don't hear from me throughout the week/weekend you'll know why.
Here's the lovely girl behind the lens, Falin Huang. I'm sure you remember her from some of my earlier posts. She's an amazing photographer and an even better friend.
