As I was walking to Sprinkles Bakery (I know fatty, right?) with a friend of mine, I spotted this lovely girl headed to Barneys. Immediately my eyes went directly to her bag and shoes, it just so happens that they were both Alexander Wang (My favorite, of course).
I ran up to her and told her how much I love her bag and showed her mine. She said that she's never seen the Rocco Bag in Pony hair, which instantly made me happy (no clue why).
Although she seemed hesitate to let me photograph her, I finally broke her in and got these lovely shots. Layers and Layers of Alexander Wang with a touch of effortless chic = PERFECTION.

Press Smess: Glamour, New York Times, Style Caster, DREAMY.
Even though my trip to New York was back in February, I just wanted to dedicate this post to all of the press that I received when venturing off to NYFW. The trip was a success and it's about a month till I move to New York, AH.
Thanks to the uh-mazing street style photographer, Candice Lake for snapping this gorgeous shot. Click Here to check out the picture.
As you guys know I'm obsessed with candids, so when a friend tweeted me that she saw me on the New York Times site I died. Check out the picture HERE.
This lovely picture was actually featured on Refinery29's The Wildest (But Still Cool!) Looks From NYFW. LOVE IT. Check out the wonderful article HERE.
It's funny, because this was actually the first picture that was taken when I arrived at NYFW. I still had my luggage with me and haven't had slept in 2 days. Not going to lie, I'm looking pretty good for not having much sleep. This was featured on Monsieur Jerome awesome men's street style blog!
I find this picture hilarious, because I was extremely frustrated when this was taken. This picture was taken by the Mollie, the lovely girl behind the blog Mollie In Seattle. She actually tweeted me and said, "So Luis @ChiCityTrends I totally saw you in SoHo and took your picture while in NYC for #nyfw." I have no clue how she found me, but thank god she did! Check out the article HERE.
I spot CROCS. Thanks Tres Awesome for the feature! Check out her phenomenal street style blog HERE.
I was also featured on Style Caster which is incredible because I read that site everyday. Thanks Jena from tweeting me about it. Check out the picture HERE.

The Internship and 300 Goodie Bags Later..
(vintage oxford shirt, h&m pants, melissa oxfords, topshop necklace, cambridge satchel, rayban glasses)
I seriously can't believe that I've been interning for Modern Luxury (CS Magazine) for close to a year. I've done everything from running magazines to clients to packing tons of goodie bags, it's been an amazing experience.
It's funny to see peoples' reactions when I tell them about how I've been interning since I was 18 (their face drop instantly). Although I've had some bumps throughout the last year, (people telling me that I'm wasting my youth, because I'm not going to get hired) I just ignore those comments and keep on moving forward. Who knows, they might be jealous?
I decided to put together this simple, yet somewhat colorful outfit within 5 minutes before leaving. I feel like my best outfits are always the ones that I do 10-15 minutes before actually leaving for an event/work/school.
My mini arm party.
I know you guys must be thinking, Why is he is not working a jacket? Well, let's just say that over the past 2-3 weeks Chicago has turned into a volcano. Maybe not a volcano, but super close to it. Good bye jackets, hello shorts.

New York Fashion Week Captures + Street Style from ME!
As you guys know it was my first time that I went to NYFW and boy was it overwhelming. I never thought that there would be swamps of people just waiting to get their picture snapped. Obviously those are the people that I didn't get their pictures.
Here are a few my shots from the second day of New York Fashion Week through my eyes! I'm such a huge fan of taking candid shots, especially when the subject notices after you take the shot.
I'm obsessed with this guy's collar. I mean metallic purple? LOVE. Plus I love how he's giving me the death stare.

I was totally in awe when I saw this lady's studded oxfords.
This skirt is to die for. She looked like the Little Mermaid (in a good way!)
Valentino studded kitten heels? I'm sold.

Birthday Suit at Freds in Barneys NY
(h&m denim shirt, marc by marc jacobs cardigan, members only jacket, levis khakis,
lanvin trainers, lanvin for h&m sunglasses, marc jacobs bow tie, alexander wang rocco bag)
I can't believe I'm finally 19. I feel like an old man (okay maybe not) but close to it. I celebrated my birthday with some of friends that I can't live without. Kendall who as you all know is so adorable and Kelley who I met when I worked at Lush Armitage and now are really good friends.
We started out the day of course working our butts off. I had to finish up some articles for school, Kendall works at a PR firm as an account executive assistant (sounds important), and Kelley was doing some freelance work for an India magazine (so chic!).
We decided to meet up at Fred's at Barneys around 1:45 PM, then we pushed it to 2:00 PM, then 2:15 PM, and finally 2:30 PM. It seems like plans can NEVER be stable.. stupid public transportation.
Kendall & I decided to get the margherita pizza, which I recommend everyone to try at some point, and Kelley got Basil & Fennel soup (looked amazing). Of course they gave us a variety of breads to start out with, which if you guys know.. I'm addicted to bread.
After nomin' on the pizza, I got surprised with a lovely vanilla creme brulee from Kelley and Kendall. It was probably one of the best deserts I've ever had (and I hate deserts).
After eating my wonderful birthday lunch, we decided to "window shop" around Barneys. Of course I wanted to buy the Balenciaga Arena bracelet, but since I came up shopping for Lent.. I couldn't. Oh well, it saved me from spending $215.
Overall I had a wonderful birthday and just want to thank my friends for being amazing.

Happy Birthday Bloggie & Me
To think that I'm no longer a baby hurts me. Okay maybe I am still a little youngin', but I'm not 18 anymore. It sucks, because I can no longer use the excuse.. well I'm only 18 (hah!)
It's crazy to imagine hitting my 1 year anniversary of Chic Overload (ChiCityTrends). The site has grown so much since the beginning and over such a short amount of time. I seriously couldn't do it without you guys.
Here's a quick glance of my life through Instagram pictures..

A Night Out With Friends Or Maybe Versace?
(top, pants, blazer all versace for h&m; h&m socks; mr. b's for aldo loafers; alexander wang rocco bag)
I decided to pull out some of my Versace for H&M stuff that I received when I went to New York for the pre-shopping event. Of course, I've been obsessing over my Mr. B's For Aldo loafers, that it seems like I wear these everywhere I go.
One thing I can say about these pants is that they are extremely difficult to match with a shirt that's not black. Knowing my wardrobe it's filled with tons of color and patterns. It's sad to say that I actually don't own a plain black button-up. Maybe I should invest one?
I'm in love with my Versace for H&M blazer mainly because of the lining. It's the smallest details that always make me happy, such as a POC (pop of color, duh!).
The funny story about my tank top is that I got it right before Lent started. It was actually hidden behind a few coats and was marked down from $34.95 to $14.95. How can you not resist that deal?
If you follow me on twitter you know that I gave up shopping for Lent. So far, so good.. yet it's killing me because Marni for H&M is coming out & my birthday is only 5 days away.
