Pretty much obsessed with the Prada SS2012 Runway Kiltie Golf Shoes. I got so excited when I spotted Kyle Anderson, accessories editors of Marie Claire, outside of Lincoln center sporting these lovelies.
Below are the items that are I'm currently craving. Too bad I gave up shopping for Lent and I'm a broke college student.

New York Fashion Week Part 2 - Everything I Dreamed Of.
In my last post I forgot to mention one of the main reasons why I came to New York.. my meeting with PR of Topman, Michael Zakrzewski for a possible internship. Although I forgot to bring my camera on this journey, I'm going to show you some of the street style pictures that I took at Lincoln Center that day!
As I headed to Soho, I stopped at Opening Ceremony where I pretty much drooled at everything that was hanging on the racks. I was so mad that the Christopher Kane cardigan that was on sale was sold to another lucky customer two days before I got there. :( Although I didn't end up getting anything, I have been eying this cute Muppets x Opening Ceremony sweater.
It was around 1:55 PM and I rushed to the huge Topshop/Topman store that was located on Broadway. I ended up finding out that the offices were the next door down. I remember looking at my watch and almost screaming because it was 1:59 PM.. I mean being late for a meeting with a huge PR guy is definitely not a good first impression.
I ran the doorbell, a cute receptionist responded and finally let me in.. after trying about 2-3 times of course. Right away I noticed a sketchy elevator and entered it without even knowing it..
Entering into the waiting room an adorable receptionist who was dressed up like Emily from Devil Wears Prada asked what I was here for? I told her I had a meeting with Michael and right when I said that there Michael is.
The rest is pretty much history. Everything was gorgeous and throughout my entire trip I couldn't stop thinking about the offices overlooking SoHo.
Once leaving the offices, I ended up waiting for a couple days to decided if Topman was right for me. Let's just say I ended up accepting the internship and will be in New York for the summer. I died.
Pretty much obsessed with his looks, especially those shoes.
I had scheduled my appointment with Michael at 2:00 PM promptly and throughout the entire day I was shaking. I couldn't help to think that this internship could drastically change my life. I mean interning for a huge company known worldwide at the age of 19 (my birthday is coming up) would be a dream. Marni For H&M Goes Big & Men's + Women's Lookbook
Photos Courtesy of HM & Nitrolicious
Marni for H&M allows women and men who aren’t always willing to go out of their comfort zone to wear bold, yet simple patterns that pleases everybody.
Guests ranged from Wendy from Nitrolicious to Drew Barrymore, most rocking pieces from the new collaboration.
I’m personally a huge fan of Marni, because of the effortless pattern clashing that goes a long with the brand. Being a huge fan of color, African inspired patterns, and tailored silhouettes - Marni brings all of those elements to the table.
Now the question is will you be waiting outside the lines for Marni for H&M or are you not impressed by the collection?

New York Fashion Week - Part 1
That dream turned into a reality.
It all started with having one of the most wonderful times in the airplane ride. I met these three wonderful ladies who seemed so electrified to go to New York for their Girls Weekend Trip. From there on, I knew I was going to have an amazing trip.
Once getting off the plane and getting my baggage, which was surprisingly super quick, I decided to take a risk and take public transportation to Lincoln Center. I've done it once before, but was still totally shaky on whether I remembered how to get there or not. I thought to myself, why waste $30 when I can just take public transportation for like $5.
(topman shirt & pants, topshop coat, tuxedo bow tie, karen walker bunny sunglasses, wool socks,

Thankfully I ended up meeting this amazing mother on the M60 bus headed towards 126st (I think) and she guided me towards the N train. From there I was finally standing in the heart of the city, Columbus Circle.
I noticed that there was a huge mall that contained J.Crew, Hugo Boss, and much more. I stopped in to look for some bracelet and J.Crew had this cute little friendship bracelet for $5. I had to get it.
As I started heading on my journey to Lincoln Center, I recognized that people were constantly staring me done. I mean I was only wearing neon, right?
From there on I was stopped by multiple people for pictures. I felt like I was in heaven. The first guy who stopped me was the photographer for Monsieur Jerome, who was extremely kind. Mind you that I had my luggage still with me. The picture came out incredible.
I finally met my roommates for my weekend, Megan and Sam.. who I love so much. Their phenomenal, especially when they wore their Litas everywhere. You do that in Chicago, and people would think your some kind of hooker. But who cares what other people think.
I finally put my luggage in their rooms, grabbed some Starbucks, and hung out at Lincoln Center for a little bit. Funny thing that we were all featured on the New York Times (if you haven't seen my previous post before).
The rest of the day we just hung out and walked around. Let's just say, it was an amazing way to start off my dream trip.

Yours Truly Featured In New York Times
I feel like everyone would appreciate this.
Pretty much dying, even though it was only for 4-5 seconds.

Packing It Up To New York
As the days fly by, New York comes closer. T-minus 3 days.. well more like 2 days, but still super close.
I'm usually the person who waits till the morning of the flight to pack. Not this time. So I start out with around half my shoes.. aka 15 pairs.
Then I slowly narrowed it down to 6, which is extremely hard especially when you are going to New York Fashion Week. Here are 3 essential shoes guys should bring when traveling.
1. Trainers
Lanvin Trainers
These are definitely the #1 pair that any guy should wear to the airport and/or bring in their luggage. Everyone should own a chic pair of trainers that can be worn with dark denim and a nice plaid button up. Think comfortable, without putting those ugly New Balance running shoes on. 2. Oxfords
Hudson Oxfords
#2 essential pair. When heading out for a night out, these are the perfect shoes to pair with a nice pair of tailored dress pants and an oxford shirt. I feel like every guy should always have some kind of dress shoes in their luggage, because you never know where you'll be headed in the night.
3. Boots
Dr. Marten Applique Boots
#3 Essential Show. Although my boots have cutouts in it. Boots are important for any crazy weather that could happen when traveling. It may be gorgeous in New York one day, but the next day could be snowing. Be prepared.
Of course since I'm different, I have to bring at least 4-6 pairs of shoes just in case there's a fashion emergency.
Above is a little preview of some accessories that I'll be taking to New York. Love me some bow ties, bracelets, and necklaces. Friday, February 3, 2012
My Life Is Like A BattleField
(thrifted blazer & shirt, levi chinos, woolrich wool socks, american apparel bow tie, clark boots,
tara lane designs bracelet, lanvin for h&m sunglasses)
These pictures were taken when my friends and I went shopping on Michigan Avenue about a week ago. When I found out that Topman and Topshop were having a major sale; I had to go.
I ended up walking out with the a cute varsity jacket and a vibrant yellow button up for $30. I love BOGO sales.
When I was taking this pictures outside of Topman I noticed that people were constantly staring. It's funny, because I actually had a guy come up to me and said that I dressed like Brad Goreski (my idol).
One thing that the sales associate told me was that Topman Unique SS2012 (preview right here) will not be coming to the Chicago location. I literally cringed when she said that, because I was obsessed with the patterns and fabrics that made up the collection. I guess I'm just going to have to get them online.
Anyways this week pretty much has kicked my butt. It seems like Wednesdays always take a toll on me, because I'm in class from 6:30 am till 5 pm. Can someone please tell me why I took 18 credit hours again?
Good news is that I got my haircut; now I'm bald.
At the moment I'm pretty much dying (in a good way). I can't believe New York is less than a week away.
I can tell you that I usually pack the morning of the trip, but since I'm leaving at 5:00 AM maybe I will pack the night before? Being a procrastinator is not good at all.
One thing that I have yet to tell you guys is that Jessica from Bows And Sequins will be joining me for a night out in New York. We'll do our casual shopping, take outfit pictures, and look cute.
I'll make sure to keep you guys posted on my mini trip, and make sure to follow me on Twitter @ChicOverload and Instagram (Chic Overload) to get instant access to my life.
