Rough It Up In Bucktown

I always wonder how my style will evolve. Will I continue to wear my Versace for H&M crocodile pants when I'm 50 or will I tame it down with a pair of chinos? One thing I do know is that I doubt I will ever be able to exactly pinpoint my style.

When someone says, What's your style?
I usually respond with I have none.

I am firm believer that everyone has an ever changing style that never settles down. Even the guy who constantly wears football jerseys and Nike gym shoes can sometimes throw on a pair of chinos. It doesn't matter how old you are, your size, anything - your style is special to you.

Another popular question people ask me is Who inspires you? Although I can list a few iconic stylish icons, cough Lana Del Rey and Anna Dello Russo cough, it is the everyday person who inspires me. When I lived in New York over the summer, I loved strolling around the Lower East Side seeing tons of chic people. Seeing a girl draped in a Rick Owens cardigan and a pair of Alexander Wang heels or seeing tons of girls carrying their neon Cambridge Satchel, just made me love New York even more.
I always tell people that Bucktown and Wicker Park are the SoHo's of Chicago. We may not have every designer store in the world (hey we have a Marc by Marc Jacobs store), but it is by far the best place to people watch, grab amazing cup of local coffee (Note: Wormhole), and find some inexpensive thrills from some of the resale shops. Hello Buffalo Exchange and Crossroads.
Sometimes you just have to throw on your relax look and go. Note: Baggy sweaters, boyfriend jeans (straight jeans for guys), and comfy shoes. Like my look? If so, here are some of my picks from some of my favorite stores.
