Lunch Dates

Some days I just think about how lucky I am to be living the life that I'm currently living. I mean what 18 year old boy can say that they intern for CS Magazine and Refinery29, work at Lush Cosmetics, in the Army ROTC, goes to school full time, and has his own blog?

Not many.
(thrifted oxford shirt, thrifted blazer, volcom pants, american apparel bow tie, marc by marc jacobs bag, h&m shoes)
I'm also fortunate to have such wonderful friends and family who continue to support my decisions. I remember I ran up to Amy Creyer at the CFF Scholarship Event and said, "You're Amy Creyer from Chicago Street Style? Oh my gosh I follow you on twitter." From then on, we've grown to become really good friends. Not only fashion friends but friends.
I love her to death & our lunch dates on Tuesday. She's a girl that everyone loves and will continue to love forever.
I continue to imagine where/what I'll be doing in 5 years. Will I be a PR executive or will I fail completely?
 Time will only tell.

Glitz & Glam - Topman Spring/Summer 2012 Preview

When I received the news that I was invited to the Topman SS 2012 collection preview, I screamed. I'm a huge fan of Topman because of their quality, price points, and trendiness (if that's even a word?).
(jcrew shirt, zara jacket, american apparel bowtie, hudson oxfords, versace for h&m bracelet, marc by marc jacobs bag)

The SS2012 collection was showcased in a lovely suite at The Witt hotel. This was my first time actually being inside one of the suites and all I can say is.. if I ever move & decide to visit Chicago I'll end up staying at The Witt.
My appointment was at 11AM but of course I was running a little bit late. As I stepped into The Witt an intern was there to guide me to the room.

I totally took a picture of her because I was obsessed with her skirt. Her skirt is from Topshop (of course!) She said that she just recently moved to Chicago and is looking to establish herself as a PR gal.
And now for the Topman Spring/Summer 2012 Collection. They had several different collections from Topman Design to the regular Topman line. So overwhelming, yet so amazing.

Those fire truck red shorts are mine.
Gorgeous prints and patterns, perfect for pattern clashing.
My ultimate favorite collection was Topman Design. Everyone who reads my blog knows that I'm a sucker for bohemian prints. Topman's Design Collection was influenced by Kashmirl and Moroccan prints that make any guy feel like they're headed to the Middle Eastern.
 Must get NOW.
Pair this with a pair of cuffed dark denim skinny jeans and a pair of oxfords = Perfection.

If you're obsessed as much as I am, here's the video to the Topman Design SS2012 collection. Can't wait till it comes out!

H&M Men & Women Spring/Summer 2012 LookBook

I'm sure everyone is hibernating now, but H&M just released their SS 2012 LookBook for Men + Women. Pretty much dying.
Women

For the women's collection I noticed tons of whites and creams. This season is definitely all about minimalism. Lots of baggy tops & pants, so pretty much skinny pants are gone for SS2012. I've always been a huge fan of flatforms, so I'm glad to see them making an even bigger comeback than the past two seasons. The lookbook ended with light color blocking and a neon dress that I still can't get over.

Men

Now for my favorite part, the men's collection. I can say that I am extremely excited for SS2012 menswear. I observed at least one bold item in each outfit, such as pairing a neon t-shirt with a lightweight sweater or neon sneakers. I love color and I'm glad that it's returning. I'm extremely excited about the maroon/pinkish cropped suit to be released as well. As it was for the women's collection, there is lots of baggy pieces and wide leg pants are definitely back.

Olivia Palermo x Topshop x Refinery29 = Perfection

(versace for hm pants, calvin klein collection sweater, underground creepers)

Refinery29 & Topshop teamed up with Olivia Palermo to celebrate Olivia's new website, OliviaPalermo.com. The event showcased several outfits that Olivia styled specifically for Topshop. I'm such a huge fan of Topshop, especially their jewelry.
The event turned out to be a huge success with editor-in-chief of Refinery29, Christene Barberich, and Chicago editor & my boss, Shani Silver there to greet their fans.
And after interning for Refinery29 since the summer, I finally get a picture with my boss.
Obsessed with Shani's velvet dress from Topshop.
Can I have one of each? Preferably the black.
Taneisha, my love from Second City Style.
& of course the Style Block.

New York Is MY Life & Dream

My trip to New York was seriously one of the biggest eye openers for me. I got to experience walking down 5th avenue seeing Versace, Michael Kors, Bergdoff's Goodman, and much more. It made me feel like a kid walking through the gates of Disneyland screaming how he/she wants to meet Mickey Mouse.

All I can say is I almost balled my eyes out.

Instantly I felt like I was at home.

I was disappointed when I got back home to Chicago that I really didn't take many pictures. I feel like I was so overwhelmed that I just wanted to take everything in, and I did.

The reason why I came to New York was for the Versace for H&M.

What I Wore: Tribal & Classy

I've been a huge fan of tribal print since Marc by Marc Jacobs S/S 2010 came out. If you can't remember the show, here it is..

Think of pattern clashing, tribal prints galore, major bows, and an endless supply of color

I pretty much wore this outfit a couple of weeks when I was interning at CS Magazine. Everyone seemed to love the idea of putting a necklace under an oxford. I think it's brilliant.
Susie Bubble WERQING it.
(lands end oxford shirt, thrifted jcrew sweater, h&m skinnies, missoni for target socks, cynthia rowley bracelets & necklace, h&m oxfords)

Pretty much my outfit is a mix of preppy chic, a little bit of tribal, and some color. Cool? I think so. Here are some of inspirations..
