The Newest IT Collaboration: Marni for H&M

Fashion gurus and H&M collaboration enthusiasts start packing your bags, because H&M just recently announced their new IT collaboration: Marni for H&M.
With the rumors going around saying that Tom Ford will be the next designer collaboration, let’s hold our breath, because the Italian brand Marni will be entering stores on March 8, 2012.

I wanted to create a true Marni wardrobe by revisiting all our favorite pieces in signature fabrics and prints. As always, I love juxtaposing prints and colours, mixing modern tribal with Bauhaus graphic adding sporty utilitarian elements.
                                                                    - Consuelo Castiglioni, Founder and Creative Director.
What makes me happy and I’m sure it’ll make you relieved is that Marni for H&M will be available in around 260 stores worldwide and online. I mean come on, Marni at H&M prices? I’ll take it.

The collection will consist of women and men’s line that consist of Marni’s classic and whimsical prints. For the women will be all of Marni’s staples, full pleated skirts, dresses, cropped trousers, and much more. For the men imagine minuet detail with the lining and stitching with a soft silhouette.
You guys know how excited I always get for collaborations. On top of this it just so happens to be right around my birthday. COUGH buy everything COUGH.

Thanksgiving Feasts and Festivities

(lanvin blazer, jcrew oxford shirt, levi's skinnies, versace for h&m necklace, aldo boots)

Thanksgiving is such a wonderful Holiday. Family, food, and booze what more can a person ask for?
My cute lil' sister that I love so much.

It’s nice to actually have a day to spend some time with the family, relax, and gain 50 lbs. Oh well that’s why they have gyms, right?
It’s sad that I can’t eat Turkey because I’m allergic to it. Isn’t that strange? It gives me hives and every time I try to eat it I have to be sent to the doctor. I’ll take some chicken and pork instead.
I’m sure you guys are all shopping right now, trying to score the latest Black Friday deals while I’m laying down and typing this from my warm bed. I’m that person who HATES to shop with 5 million people (unless it’s a special collaboration, such as Versace for H&M).
Make sure to shop local, eat some yummy leftovers, and spend time with your family because that is what the holidays are all about.

The Big Boy is Here...well Kiehl's

Finally the wait is over, Kiehl’s opened their doors on November 17th allowing customers to shop at their very first Midwest Flagship store in The Shops at North Bridge, on Michigan Avenue. The shop is suppose to mirror what New York Flagship store has, but of course Chicago will do it better (always).
Kiehl’s, which is known for their efficacious skin, hair and body care products, will be celebrating their 160th anniversary with the opening of their two story venue, where guests can be plastered on the store’s wall with hundreds of other guests. I mean they have their own photo booth for god sake.
Sticking to Kiehl’s iconic look, there will be a scale replica of a bi-plane, which was originally owned by Mr. Aaron Morse, a second-generation family member who led the company to its successful ways in the 1960s. A company with a growing history = amazing.

I think that Kiehl’s couldn’t have opened at a more perfect time, because with their custom gifting. Customers will be allowed to build their own gifts, with a specific price point, ingredients, theme, and much more. LOVE IT.
So make sure you guys stop by and check out the to-die-for Chicago Flagship store located on Michigan Avenue!

Welcome to New York

(vintage blazer, levi's skinnies, shades of grey vneck, missoni for target socks, underground creepers)

I received an email from Jennifer Ward saying that I was invited to the Versace for H&M pre-shopping event. I literally jumped out of my bed and started to dance, because first of all - the event is being held at the H&M flagship store that is located in New York and I don't have to wait 6 hours like I did last year for Versace for H&M.
I am actually typing this from a Starbucks in Chelsea that took me forever to find. I'm seriously so idiotic when it comes to directions. I think I've asked like 20 people how to get to Soho & Manhattan. Whether it's a person that is selling illegal Louis Vuitton purses or an adorable lady wearing Balenciaga cut-out boots, I was desperate.
I'm pretty much loving New York. Right when I got off the airplane I felt the heavy air move down my throat. I'm home, well for 3 days.

Tomorrow's the Versace for H&M event and I seriously can't wait. Hopefully I'll see some of you guys out there! Well, I'm off to do some shopping on Fifth Avenue.

SPOTTED: Pretty in Florals

You must be wondering who this gorgeous lil' lady is? Her name is Nicole and she's a sale associate at the wonderful Cynthia Rowley. I met her through a good friend of mine, Amy - Chicago Street Style, and ever since then we've hit it off pretty good.

When I was headed to work, I saw this lovely lady yelling on the phone. I have no clue what was going on, but I just needed to take her picture. I love that she took a risk on wearing florals in the winter, because.. well.. most girls usually wear florals in the spring. Her vintage Cynthia Rowley dress is gorgeous and her to-die-for Miu Miu wedges are in a beautiful turquoise color.
She's adorable, rough, and sometimes I just want to put her in my pocket. Enough said.

The One That Got Away..

First things first, Happy Veteran's Day! If it wasn't for our wonderful troops, who knows what situation we would be in right now. As a cadet part of the Army ROTC, it is an HONOR to be participating in this wonderful program.
Some of my friends from ROTC

Many people ask me if I'm going to sign a contract once junior year comes along, who knows? I feel like it's too early in the program for me to decide, but right now I'm having a blast. You really understand and appreciate what troops have to go through to keep our country functioning. So this goes out to ALL of the troops, whether you're a Veteran or not - THANK YOU.

Oh and you can't forget about 11/11/11. Did you make your wish? I sure did, but I told you what I wished for then I would have to kill you. If you didn't, you have two chances to make your wishes!

So on top of Veteran's Day & 11/11/11 Day, The One That Got Away music video came out today. I think it has to be one of the best videos that Katy Perry has came out with, plus the song is my favorite out of the whole album. What do you guys think?

What You've Been Waiting For.. Versace for H&M

Mark Ronson looking chic in Versace for H&M.
Bryan Boy & Jessica Alba

Blake Lively & Jennifer Hudson

Last night was the release party for one of the astounding collections that everyone will want their hands on, Versace for H&M. There were numerous of attendees who watched some of the most elite models strut down the golden paved runway, such as Blake Lively, Chace Crawford, and Jessica Alba, Jennifer Hudson. OBSESSED.
Pretty much I heard that it was one of the most incomparable fashion show that H&M has ever done. Take Versace's archives and mix it with some current trends = Versace for H&M line. For men, think of tailored vibrant suits, geometric sweaters, STUDDED everything, and the classic Versace look. While women have the gorgeous studded leather dresses, classic Versace patterns, and to-die-for silk bags.

Insanity Starts at 8 AM

Pretty much since I'm a person that likes to take on five things all at once, I'm usually running from events to work or school to work or well you get the point.

Here's a usual Thursday for me..
I started off with my English class from 8:00 till 9:15, which is actually wonderful since the subject is on food. The current project that we currently are doing is to a write an argumentative paper on whether you believe GMOs are good or bad to you. Of course I chose that I am against them, because of how they are unethical, terrible for economy, and not tested enough... But let's not going into that.
I was then headed back to my dorm to intern for Refinery29. The fun thing about interning for an online publication is that I get to work from home. I know what you're saying, oh god you probably get super distracted. Of course I do, but I try to stay on task most of the time. Since Refinery29 requires tons of research on outfits and stores, it really interesting on finding the next "it" store especially when it's located in Chicago. I usually intern from 9:30 till 5ish, but it all depends on whether Shani (my editor) in swamped with stuff which usually is the case.
(Left: Shani's Office)

Then it's usually off to events, and it so happens to be Haberdash. Pretty much obsessed with Haberdash, because it's the store that every girl friend wishes their husband's closet looked like. Super chic, yet super masculine at the same time.
Gorgeous flannels perfect for Fall and Winter.
Men that know how to dress. DONE.
DENIM that I want.

The night usually ends with piles of homework lying around waiting to be done. This is the part where I wish there was 36 hours in a day rather than a short 24. I tell myself everyday, I can sleep when I get older, right?
