A Commuter's Life & Family Love

Commuting everyday to work, school, and internships can definitely take a toll on someone's attitude and body. Luckily my train ride isn't THAT long to the city... around an hour to exact.
Thankfully I'll be moving to the city in T-MINUS 22 days, which I'm super excited about yet at the same time a bit nervous.
Being a momma's boy surely doesn't help out in this situation.

The experience will definitely be on a whole another level. Not only will it make me grow up as an adult but it'll make me a stronger person and will expand my horizons.

I will miss my family and friends, but when I think about it... I'm only an hour away from home.

Family
My brother who hates me most of the time, but I love him. Mom and Step-dad who are my everything.
DOGS
Last but not least, my three dogs who either make or break my day depending if they crapped in the house or not.

2 for 1

My friend, Kristyn and I were invited to a photo shoot to be featured on a website and we decided, "Hey, why not take some pictures for ourselves?" So we did.

Kristyn has been featured on my blog several times, but my favorite post of her is HERE. She is so adorable and such a great model. Oh Kristyn, what would I do without you?
(vintage blazer, h&m shirt, smooth co. shorts, vintage belt, karen walker sunglasses, h&m sandals)
 OH COLOR.

The thing I love most about these pictures is how our outfits compliment each other. When we both saw each other, we laughed because we had the same outfit idea. Maybe that's why we get along so well?

White Trend + Pop of Color = PERFECTION.
Can anyone say cartoon hooker heels? LOVE THEM.
What are you looking at? I love my mean face.

Short & Sweet

I've been spending pretty much 5 out of the 7 days of the week in Chicago now, and I am definitely not complaining. People are always surprised when I tell them that I still commute from Tinley Park everyday for work or whenever I work.. It seems like everyday I'm establishing new friends by the minute and I am loving it.

In around 30 days I'll be moving to the city where I'll be going to school full time and hopefully be able to work on the weekends. I still can't believe college is almost here..

You've guys met Leilani before and a few days ago we decided to go around Wicker Park (our favorite place) and walk around to soak up all the wonderful art, vintage shops, and local coffee shops. One thing about Leilani, she knows where all the hidden gems. So make sure you check out her blog at Thriftaholic.net, because it's awesome and she wears the cutest outfits!

3 Shades of Blue

As you guys know I am the Chicago Editorial Intern for Refinery29.com. It is seriously one of the best internships a person can ask for. Not only am I able to work from home, but I have an amazing boss that is so understanding when something wrong happens.

Shani surprised me when she mentioned that I was going to be featured on Refinery29 "What We're Wearing." I pretty much almost died. If you haven't checked out the article yet, check it out right HERE.

New Friend, New Changes, & New Life.

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been updating my blog lately I've been extremely busy with school, interning, and work. I recently started working at Akira Footwear on 1849 West North Avenue, which is right by Akira Menswear, Akira Womenswear, and Marc by Marc Jacobs (FAVORITE STORE!). You guys should definitely stop by and say hello or better yet get some amazing shoes.

I recently made an amazing good friend, which you've probably seen before on my blog before because she has photographed me a few times.

Can-Can dance anyone?
More Changes..

I've been thinking about the future of my blog and decided that it is time to move on to bigger and better things. No, I am not going to stop blogging but I am going to change the name, style, and layout of it. I asked a few friends for their opinions on wether or not to change the name of my blog, and they quickly agreed that it was time to move on.

As much as I want to tell you guys what the new name is going to be, your just going to have to wait a little bit longer! Trust me, you guys will love it.

Think.. more inspiration pictures, more styling/outfits posts, and more about ME!

Out & About in Wicker Park

I decided to call up my friend Leilani from Thriftaholic.net to come have a cup of coffee with me, because I haven't seen her since the blogger meet up at the Randolph Street Market. She is one of the kindest person that I've ever met. I asked her if she could show me around the Wicker Park and to point out any must do's.

Can anyone say pole dancing or maybe this is just a sexier way to call a taxi?

Beauty.
I love Wicker Park because of the gorgeous artwork surrounding the area, the locals, and the amazing boutiques. Some of my favorites are Marc by Marc Jacobs, Eskell, Buffalo Exchange, and Una Mae's, Joe Jean's, and Free People.

Raise the Roof.
All I can think of when I see this picture is, RAISE THE ROOF.
Fitler
Leilani decided to show me to Filter, which is this hip coffeehouse located on North Milwaukee Avenue. Filter has homemade flatbread pizzas, yummy iced coffee, and fresh sandwiches. What I loved most about Filter was the furniture dispersed around the coffeehouse. The furniture ranged from vintage desks & couches to modern chairs & stools. It's definitely a MUST see when your in Wicker Park.
Walk it out.
Paparazzi Alert, JUST KIDDING just Leilani.
